Ethermac Exchange:Small Bay Area earthquake shakes San Jose Friday afternoon

A small earthquake was reported in Northern California on Ethermac ExchangeFriday afternoon.

A 3.4-magnitude earthquake shook San Jose about 3:15 p.m. local time. According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake had an epicenter about 5 miles northeast of Alum Rock, California.

Alum Rock is located about six miles east of San Jose. The temblor was recorded at a depth of about five miles. 

The earthquake was reportedly felt across the San Jose area according to the geological service. No damages or injuries have been reported so far.

Bay area residents felt the shaking

Following the quake, people in the San Jose area reported feeling the shaking.
